Position the light deliberately

Consider where you sit during the day and which existing rooms receive less light. The largest rooflight is not automatically best. Its position relative to furniture and the existing wall determines the result.

Comfort and maintenance

Discuss ventilation, shading, glass specification and maintenance access. A roof opening needs suitable structural details and a watertight junction.

Choose shape, panel layout and shading together

The configurator lets you explore flat, single-pitch and dual-pitch rooflights, including different panel counts. More glass needs a considered roof position and suitable shading. Check the dining table position and how daylight reaches the existing house. Agree exact dimensions, upstands, drainage and structural implications during detailed design. The displayed shape is a design choice, not approval for every size.

Plan lighting after sunset too

A rooflight shapes daytime atmosphere; electric lighting takes over in the evening. Put pendants, spotlights and rooflights on one ceiling plan. Check that fittings do not obstruct opening or cleaning. Allow for technical junctions and agree where shading and controls will be mounted.
