Draw the usable space
A bay with angled sides has a different internal layout from a rectangular extension. Draw furniture and circulation to scale. Consider privacy where glazing faces the street or a neighbouring home.
The junction determines the detail
The existing wall opening, support, foundations and roof edge must work together. Discuss drainage and the new floor level. A front-facing bay also needs its own assessment against the rules for the address.
Request a separate bay quotation
The rectangular configurator is not an exact bay calculator. Use a sketch with width, depth, angles and glazing layout for a suitable quotation. For a 1930s home, consider how new frames relate to the original facade proportions.

Draw the seating at full size
A bay can look roomier outside than its usable interior suggests. Check seat height, sill and furniture positions. Ensure opening windows do not hit seating. Include curtains and any radiator so the new corner is comfortable as well as attractive.
