Design from the inside out
Measure bicycles, cupboards and large equipment including manoeuvring space. A wide door only helps if the path and corners are usable too. Keep frequently used items near the entrance.
Dry, accessible and suitably ventilated
Discuss floor level, drainage, ventilation and the expected internal climate. An insulated wall alone does not prevent every moisture problem. Have electrical services and any equipment charging points properly designed and installed.
Request a quotation for storage use
A storage building does not automatically use the same construction as a heated extension. Specify materials, floor loads, access and facilities. Request a separate quotation including foundations and installation instead of reusing a living-space price.

Measure the largest item including its turning path
A bike may fit through the doorway but still need to turn inside. Draw the largest item with open cupboard doors and note charging or lighting needs. Provide a sensible place for wet belongings rather than trapping moisture in enclosed storage.
