Where do you want more daylight?
Consider both the new room and the existing room behind it. Glazing position, extension depth and nearby buildings affect the result. A smaller glazed area in the right place may suit the layout better.
Plan shading and maintenance from the outset
Discuss orientation, ventilation, glazing specification and suitable shading together. Ask how the roof can be cleaned safely and how rainwater drains. The supporting structure and waterproof junctions must be designed for the chosen system.
Full glazing or a rooflight?
The configurator offers rooflights within a solid roof. A fully glazed roof system needs a separate technical design and quotation. Do not treat the module’s options as a full quotation for that roof.

Compare full glazing with a targeted rooflight
Draw a solid-roof alternative with a smaller rooflight alongside the fully glazed design. Compare daylight distribution and pendant positions. Include cleaning access. More glass is not automatically better if it exposes the seating area to excessive sun or limits lighting positions.
